Big Easy, Big Heart 5K

The New Orleans Mission brings a new twist to its annual fundraising 5K. This nature driven race at Mandeville's lovely Fontainebleau State Park places runners right into some of southeast Louisiana's most distinctive landscape. Big Easy, Big Heart is an annual event that raises money for women dealing with or escaping abuse or dangerous situations. Runners are required to have a whistle and a water bottle, Camelbak, or some kind of rehydration system. Refreshments and food will be provided after the race. 9 am; $45 to pre-register before July 17.  bigeasybigheart.com.
