In 2024, the River Road African American Museum celebrates thirty years of sharing the rich and storied narratives of the African American communities in Louisiana's rural river communities. Multiplying the celebrations for the occasion of Black History Month, the RRAAM will host the following programming this month at its restored Rosenwald School:
February 10: Civil Rights Commemoration Install & Reveal. 6 pm–8 pm. $25.
February 17: Genealogy Workshop. 10 am–noon. $75.
February 7: Live Oral History Recording. 2 pm. Free.
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 365 Days of Wellness Soul Line Dance Class. 6 pm. $10.
Saturdays: Freedom Garden Medicine Making with local Louisiana Herbalist. Noon. Free.
