Black History Month at the Mound
The Friends of Magnolia Mound will present their eleventh annual Black History Month event today at Magnolia Mound Plantation. The event includes a presentation of In their Own Voices: American Slaves Tell Their Story by dramatic actor and playwright Oneal Isaac. Isaac premiered this work back in 2005 at the inaugural event. Also on the docket: Givonna Joseph and members of the OperaCreole ensemble will perform spirituals, music of African American composers, and a variety of other selections.
