Blues Lagniappe
A little something extra from Preserve Louisiana
Preserve Louisiana gets a little help from their friends at Forum 35, The Baton Rouge Blues Foundation and Dialogue on Race Louisiana to present Blues Lagniappe—a panel discussing the history of the Blues in Louisiana. This special Lagniappe Lecture will trace Blues's roots in race dynamics during the time of its origin. Panelists will include blues historian Joyce Jackson, artists Lil Jimmy Reed and Harvey Knox, and facilitator Maxine Crump, executive director of Dialogue on Race Louisiana. After the lecture, all are welcome to join presenters in the Old Governor's Mansion's Rose Garden to enjoy signature cocktails set to tunes by Harvey Knox & Friends. 6 pm–9 pm at 502 North Boulevard. Free, but reservations are required. Make them at BonTempsTix.com, or call (225) 387-2464. preserve-louisiana.org to learn more.
