In French, the term Bon á Tiere can mean "ready to go" or "ready to print." In the world of printmaking, the abbreviation of B.A.T. is universally recognized as an artist's approval of a work. The work can now be printed.
In recognition of this artistic tradition, this month the Hammond Regional Arts Center is hosting the work of sixteen printmakers from Georgia, Louisiana, Indiana, Texas, Virginia, and New York. The exhibit was curated by Ernest Milstead, a Printmaking Professor at Southeastern University.
Featured artists include: Justin Barfield, Xenia Fedorechenko, Tim Fite, Belinda Flores-Shinshillas, Steven Foutch, Courtney Googe, Veronica Hallock, Kathryn Hunter, Raluca Iancu, Ross Jahnke, Brian Kelly, Jeff Mickey, Ernest Milsted, Jennifer Printz, Sean Starwars, and Jon Swindler.
Don't Miss: On February 1, the Hammond Regional Arts Center will host an opening artists' reception to celebrate the exhibit. 5–8 pm. hammondarts.org.
