Byrde's Dancers Scholarship Luncheon
Helping make dance accessible
Join Of Moving Colors at Red Stick Social for the third annual luncheon to benefit the Byrde's Dancers Scholarship Fund, an effort in memory of Susan Lipsey's mother that brings cultural enrichment opportunities to children in need. Each year, OMC presents Kick It Out, a community outreach project that involves 75-100 children from all around our city. The project is a large one, encompassing four months of dance classes, learning under professional dancers, and performing onstage alongside them in a stunning production. Around half of these children are only able to participate in Kick It Out through the assistance of scholarships.OMC hopes to bring this incredible opportunity to as many underserved families as possible in 2019-2020. Honorary guests and speakers at this year's event are Mimosa Handcrafted's Madeline Ellis and In Loving Arms' Renita Williams Thomas. $33; $504 per table sponsorship. Noon. bontempstix.com.
