Chloe Willis Recognition Reception

The Bayou Teche Museum is hosting a reception to honor the accomplishments of Chloe Willis, a student at Jefferson Island Elementary who is the recipient of the 2021 International Milken Discovery award. She receives the award for a documentary she made which tells the story of her great-grandfather, who was an activist during the Civil Rights Movement, having participated in the Baton Rouge Bus Boycott that inspired Dr. Martin Luther King to utilize the same model in Montgomery two years later.
