Once again, Christwood has commissioned local labyrinth historian Peggy DesJardin to oversee the building of the annual Lenten Labyrinth. The sixty-two foot, eleven-circuit labyrinth inspired by the one built on the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France in the 1200s is on a small hill adjacent to Loch Loman. Labyrinths are a historical meditative, spiritual, and prayer tool dating back to the 1200s. The following events will take place throughout the Lenten season:
March 8: Labyrinth Build (Rain date March 9), 10 am.
March 12: Labyrinth Walk, 11 am.
March 19: Labyrinth walk accompanied by harp music, 2 pm.
March 25: Labyrinth Walk, noon.
April 2: Bereavement Walk, 2 pm.
