Louisiana State Library 701 North 4th Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
Eakin Films & Publishing, Home Energy Club, and Get Green Energy are joining up with the State Library of Louisiana in an effort to instill a passion for their Earth in our state's youth.
Judged by Academy Award Winner Louis Gossett, Jr., the inaugural Climate Champions Art Contest invites students in grades 1–12 to submit original artwork inspired by the theme "What Climate Change Means to Me." Through this contest, young people's voices, opinions, and ideas on the future of our planet will be celebrated and used to help inspire others to care more deeply for our home.
From November 1–December 1, Louisiana youth can submit their artwork by taking a picture of it with their phones or scanning it, and uploading the file in a submission form on the contest site at www.homeenergyclub.com/climatechampions.
Winners will receive cash prizes, finalists will receive special Climate Champion t-shirts, and every participant will receive a Climate Champions—Be a Hero certificate.
