In a troubling and lovely conflux of human refuse and nature's violent artistry—Loren Shwerd presents the remnants from an afternoon on the Oregon coast five years ago. Confluence's collection of sculptures germinated from plastic shards scattered like confetti across the beach, hewn and sewn with the designs of the Pacific Ocean's violence upon them. Shwerd explores these embodiments of the interaction between human craft and abandonment and nature's chaos and pervasive reactions.
