Creole Culture Day
Grand Coteau Town Park 231 Burleigh Lane, Grand Coteau, Louisiana
The organization Louisiana Creole Culture invites folks across Acadiana to celebrate the rich heritage of the region's Creole communities. The festival is designed as an immersion into the world of traditional Creole life, starting with a live boucherie at 6 am, linguistic activities like Creole French Bingo, demonstrations of classic Creole crafts and dishes, and live music, genealogy presentations—plus, they butcher a whole hog and make cracklins. Boucherie begins at 6 am, everything else at 10 am at Grand Coteau Town Park, 231 Burleigh Lane, Grand Coteau. Free. creoleculture.com.
