Dance Speaks: Los Angeles Ballroom Studio

Elena Grinenko, star of five seasons of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, has put together a troupe of world-class ballroom dancers and taken it on the road. The show, which will feature USA and Russian dance champions, as well as Alan Bersten, featured finalist of Season 10 of the Fox TV show So You Think You Can Dance?, bursts onto the Manship Theatre stage to present dramatic sambas, tangoes, and tell stories of interactions, feelings, passions and lives lived to the fullest.

The performance launches Dance Speaks, a program through which the Manship is dedicating its entire 2014—2015 dance season to serve as a platform for public education on HIV/AIDS. Funding will be raised through targeted marketing campaigns, post-concert curtain speeches and donation campaigns by performers, and all funds raised will be directed to sending local patients to Camp Hope, a one-week summer camp established for HIV-positive children aged seven to fifteen. 8 pm at 100 Lafayette Street. $25–$40.
