Saint Joseph Seminary College will host its annual fundraising gala, Deo Gratias, (Latin for “thanks be to God”) on the grounds of the historic Saint Joseph Abbey in Covington, Louisiana. At Deo Gratias, patrons have an opportunity to meet many of the monks, seminarians, faculty, and staff of Saint Joseph Abbey and Seminary College who devote themselves to the mission of Ora et Labora (pray and work). The evening begins at 6 pm with Vespers in the Abbey Church with the Benedictine monks and the Seminary Schola Cantorum. The outdoor gala begins at 7 pm featuring music provided by the Patrick Rosenow Quartet, and dinner prepared by local chefs and farm-to-table cuisine.
Guests can also participate in a silent auction featuring items such as a game package for the LSU vs. Texas A&M game on November 30 and featured artwork by Denise Hopkins. Raffle prizes include $500 in cash, a one-night stay at the Southern Hotel with an Oxlot 9 gift certificate, and an overnight stay at Annadele's Plantation with complimentary breakfast. Raffle tickets can be purchased online at sjasc.edu or at the event for $25. Admission tickets are $100 if purchased in advance.
