Local artist Thomas Wimberly's first solo show, “Don’t Believe the Hype,” will give insight into his perception of a world of hyper-connectivity in which easier and easier for people to dissociate politics from the individuals policies directly affect. Wimberly's work strives to challenge ideals to encourage personal reexamination. The show includes pieces dealing with the epidemic of mass school shootings, immigration, campaign finance reform, and social media and its effect on thought.
