New Orleans Museum of Art is proud to present Ear to the Ground: Earth and Element in Contemporary Art, an exhibition set to run through December 2020. The exhibition is an interesting and diverse collection with its finger on pulses both current and primal. Ear to the Ground features work by 18 artists that span different media, culture, and time periods, all of whom dig into the earth and its elements in some way. Whether its as media or canvas, inspiration or conservation, nature makes its way into every piece, asking viewers to examine their relationships with the earth as well as with fellow humans on it. Artists featured include Dan Alley, Lynda Benglis, Diedrick Brackens, Edward Burtynsky, Chandra McCormick, Clyde Connell, Cristina Molina, Dawn DeDeaux, Courtney Egan, Olafur Eliasson, Jorge Otero Escobar, Mikhail Karikis, Ronald Lockett, Sara Madandar, Jennifer Odem, Bosco Sodi, Pat Steir, and Christopher Wilmarth. New Orleans artist Cristina Molia will also offer a particularly unique and intimate way to experience the exhibition via her performance piece Under Three Things, a whispering tour conducted from the perspective of the personified earth.
