Each month, the Manship Theatre offers a slate of films, from modern classics to engaging new documentaries and locally-produced stories. Here's what's in store:
August 8: Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone (25th Anniversary Screening): Follow Harry, Ron, and Hermione on the second installment of their magical adventures, adapted from the popular children's series. 2 pm. $9.50.
August 9: The Birdcage: Chaos and hijinks ensue after Val Goldman asks Barbara Keely to marry him, with his father, a gay nightclub owner, and his life partner, squaring off with the Keely family. 2 pm. $9.50.
August 14: The Hoodoos Premiere +Q&A: A heist job, voodoo horror, a local premiere—and all filmed in Baton Rouge. 7:30 pm. $12.50.
August 16: Funny Girl - $5 Movie: In this classic, Fanny Brice, played by Barbra Streisand, begins her entertainment career as a bit player on a vaudeville stage and ends up starring on Broadway. 2 pm. $5.
