The Ascension Parish Master Gardeners Association presents a series of educational workshops with gardening and landscaping tips geared to both novice and advanced gardeners. These workshops, hosted by the Ascension Parish Library, are designed for adults.
• September 11, 6:30 pm, Galvez Branch: Fall/Winter Vegetable Gardening: Take some of the sweat out of your gardening while still harvesting a bumper crop in colder months. Butch Drewes of Clegg's nursery will discuss how to grow fresh produce year-round. To register, call (225) 622-3339.
• September 18, 6:30 pm, Dutchtown Branch: Great Flowering Shrubs & Roses for the Louisiana Landscape and Their Care: Dr. Allen Owings, horticulturalist and retired LSU professor takes you beyond the azalea to explore beautiful, low-maintenance varieties of flowering shrubs to brighten up curb appeal. • October 2, 6:30 pm, Gonzales Branch: Gardening Questions & Answers - Plant Swap: This is your chance to get all of your gardening questions answered. A panel of Master Gardeners will conduct a question-answer session on a wide range of gardening topics. Then collect new plants to nurture with your knowledge with an old-fashioned plant swap.
