Grand Réveil Acadien

Each year, Grand Réveil Acadien, or Great Acadian Awakening, hosts celebrations, gatherings, and events throughout South Louisiana to revitalize Acadian culture and focus on maintaining and passing down its traditions. It's a celebration—and wake up call—for locals to preserve this rich way of life before it's too late. A few of the oh-so-many items on the agenda are concerts and workshops, swamp tours, Cajun dancing and festivals, films, conferences, and more. Festivities coincide with (and include) the Festival Acadiens et Créoles in Lafayette (October 10—12).
