Watch the roux and rice fly at the World Championship Gumbo Cookoff, held in Bouligny Plaza. The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce will host the festivities, which will feature music, family fun, and plenty of food. The weekend offers Cajun and Creole food, a youth cookoff, kids' activities, and the Meanest Beans Competition, but Sunday is the big day of the "Battle of the Rouxs," where teams compete for the honor of World's Best Gumbo. Throughout Saturday and Sunday, local acts will provide live entertainment to complement your appetite. 8 am–10 pm Saturday; 10 am–3 pm Sunday at 100 West Main Street, New Iberia.
