Main Branch Library 7711 Goodwood Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70806
The Friends of Hilltop Arboretum's annual symposium is all about "Irises’ Tale of Conservation and Adaptation", particularly the ways the beautiful flower has been an important part of Louisiana's natural heritage, and how it has been impacted by climate change. Iris experts Patrick O’Connor and Charles Perilloux will share information as well as experience with the plants, and Dana Nunes Brown will speak on her book Using Plants for Stormwater Management, particularly the ways irises are used for stormwater management and as ecosystems. The symposium is sponsored by the Arlene Kestner Educational Fund. 8:30 am—1 pm. $50 for members, $65 for non-members. lsu.edu/hilltop for more information or to register, or call (225) 767-6916.
