The Baton Rouge Jewish Film Festival returns this year, bringing a series of acclaimed films to the Manship Theatre related to Jewish culture and history. On the bill are:
January 14: Fantasy Life (2025)—Sam Stein loses his paralegal job, suffers a panic attack, and ends up taking work as a babysitter to his psychiatrist's three granddaughters. 7 pm.
January 15: Elie Wiesel: Soul on Fire (2025)—A powerful testament of the life and work of Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel, from his childhood surviving the Holocaust to his ascension as a figure known for his moral clarity and rigorous ethical backbone on the world stage. 7 pm.
January 17: Holding Liat (2025)—The film follows the story of Israeli-American Liat Atzili, who was kidnapped on October 7 during a raid by Hamas, and her family's advocacy for her safe release. 7:30 pm.
January 18: Swedishkayt: Yidlife Crisis in Stockholm (2025)—YidLife Crisis—comedy duo Eli Batalion and Jamie Elman—head to Sweden to explore the country's little-known Jewish culture for a laugh-filled and joyous exploration of identity and resilience. 3 pm.
