to
Alexandria Museum of Art 933 Second Street, Alexandria, Louisiana 71301
The Alexandria Museum of Art displays a private collection of Josep María García-Llort (1921-2003) paintings. An avant-garde Catalan painter who spent several years working in Pineville, García-Llort focused on flat colors and thick lines in his works—heavily influenced by the likes of Pablo Picasso, Antoni Tapies, Josep Palau i Fabre and Albert Ràfosls-Casamada. Displayed pieces are on loan to the museum from the Freedman family. themuseum.org.
