Join the City of Lake Charles for six days of festivities celebrating the legacy of Black excellence in Louisiana.
- Sunday, June 14: Juneteenth Freedom Festival Parade and Art Festival: Things kick off on Sunday at 3 pm with a family-friendly parade beginning at the Lake Charles Event Center, followed by an art festival presented by the Black Heritage Gallery.
- Monday, June 15: Men's & Women's Health Day: The MLK Center at 2009 North Simmons will offer free health screenings with a focus on men's and women's health, mental wellness, stress management, and healthcare-related financial literacy, from 9 am–2 pm.
- Tuesday, June 16: KidFit Olympics & Juneteenth Movie Under the Stars: The KidFit Olympics welcomes all area children to participate in a series of fun and friendly competitions, such as sack races, relay runs, and tug-of-war, and more. 9 am–3 pm at the MLK Center. That evening, head to the Lake Charles Event Center Amphitheater, where there will be a special screening of Toy Story, featuring local food trucks with all the movie-viewing goodies for sale—we're talking popcorn, funnel cakes, snowcones, and more. 4 pm–9 pm.
- Wednesday, June 17: Juneteenth Bingo & the Great American Talent Search: At 9 am, seniors are invited to a special Juneteenth Bingo celebration at the MLK Center, in which each square will be filled with historical facts, cultural symbols, and traditions honoring the legacy of Juneteenth. That evening, Sheryl Underwood will host a talent showcase/audition of regional singers, dancers, musicians, comedians, and spoken word artists in the Great American Talent Search. Location TBD. 7 pm.
- Thursday, June 18: Scholarship Brunch & Sheryl Underwood's "I Need a Job" Comedy Tour: The morning will begin with a presentation of this year's $1,000 scholarships to deserving high school seniors to attend the school of their choice. 11 am at the MLK Center. That evening, have a laugh at Emmy Award-winning comedian Sheryl Underwood's live comedy show, hosted at Geebeaux's.
- Friday, June 19: Juneteenth Freedom Festival Family Day & Concert: For the big day, join other festival-goers for a community gathering honoring the legacy of Juneteenth with live music, a sauce piquant cook-off, artisan venders, a kidzone, and much more. All at the Lake Charles Event Center starting at noon.
