Just Listen to Yourself: The Louisiana Poet Laureate Presents Louisiana Poets

The Louisiana Center for the Book is celebrating National Poetry Month with its seventh annual Just Listen to Yourself: The Louisiana Poet Laureate Presents Louisiana Poets. Louisiana's current Poet Laureate, Peter Cooley, will host the event, and poets from across the state will read their work. Cooley has published eight books of his poetry, and is currently director of the Creative Writing program at Tulane. Other participating poets include  Jack Bedell, Gina Ferrara, John Gery, Clare Martin, Biljana Obradovic, Andrea Panzeca, Mona Lisa Saloy, and Baton Rouge's own John Warner Smith, as well as previous Louisiana poet laureates Darrell Bourque and Julie Kane. Attendees are invited to bring bag lunches. Free. 12 pm.
