Fifty years ago half a million people, representing the era's counter culture, gathered at a dairy farm in Bethel, New York for the first ever Woodstock Festival. Today, hundreds will gather in Baton Rouge for a family-friendly version of the Summer of Love, held at the Knock Knock Children's Museum. Festival-goers can sway, hand-in-hand with the whole family, to the tunes of Peter Simon, Polly Pry, Ziggy & the Junkyard Band, Baton Rouge Music Studios, Dorothy LeBlanc, the School of Performing Rock, and the School of Rock Baton Rouge. Thrive on the vibes of painted faces, collaborative mural-making, tie dyeing, tree hugging, air guitar-playing, and much, much more. 4 pm–8 pm Saturday; noon to 4 pm Sunday. $20 ($15 for members) a person per day; two-day family (four people) passes are $135 ($95 for members) with $30 ($20 for members) per add on. knockknockmuseum.org/knockstock.
