The Bayou Teche Museum presents Leprosy: The Separating Sickness, an exhibition based on content from Claire Manes and Anne Brett, curated by Theresa Herrera, archivist, and director, Ana Bellomy. The exhibition explores the humanity of the people who were unjustly isolated because of their diagnosis, and aims to dispel misunderstandings about and educate the public on Hansen’s Disease—as well as the community created by The Carville Leprosarium's residents. An opening reception will be held June 28 at 10 am. bayoutechemuseum.org.
