Goldenrod in a Louisiana coastal prairie
Making its Baton Rouge premiere, the film Louisiana Grass Roots will screen at the Manship Theatre—sparking important conversations about protecting Louisiana's distinct ecosystems. Directed by Jillian Godshall and Dr. Phyllis Baudoin Griffard, the short documentary tells the story of the ecologically vital, but imperiled, coastal prairies of Southwest Louisiana, and the people working tirelessly to save them. “We hope viewers come away from the screening ready to join the movement to save our prairie lands,” says Griffard. The screening is at 2 pm and will be followed by a Q&A with the prairie restoration scientists featured in the film. $12.50. manshiptheatre.org.
