LPO's Rachmaninov Symphonic Dances
Guest conductor Teddy Abrams leads the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and rising pianist Alessio Bax in an evening of passionate post-Romantic favorites by Rachmaninov, Debussy, and Ravel. Bax brings his elegant and lyrical style to Ravel’s quintessentially French Piano Concerto in G major, preceded by Debussy’s impressionistic work, Prelude to The Afternoon of a Faun. The concert concludes with Sergei Rachmaninov’s energetic classic Symphonic Dances. 7:30 pm at First Baptist Church, 16333 Highway 1085. $20–$55.
