LSU Leisure Arts: Good Food Is Fun
Each month during fall, the Leisure & Arts Program offers lots of culinary classes to sharpen kitchen techniques. Here're a couple to consider:
• November 1 & 8, 3 pm–4:30 pm: Sushi. Get your roll on. One of LSU’s own sushi chefs, Marie Hla, will show how to make nigri (pressed sushi), and zushi (rolled sushi), sharing the fundamental techniques for preparing healthy, tasty, artistically attractive Japanese cuisine. Age 10+, minors to be accompanied by a registered adult. LSU Student Union.
• November 9, 6:30 pm–8 pm: Basic Cookie Decorating with Royal Icing. Learn the basics of how to use royal icing to decorate fun seasonal cookies. Royal icing goes on smooth, then hardens to create professional-looking, stackable iced treats. Learn correct consistencies, application techniques, and tips on how to get a clean, professional look.
