Lunchtime Lagniappe: Louisiana Trail Riders
Capitol Park Museum 660 North 4th Street, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
The Black Trail Riding Clubs that have their roots in Creole culture of the 18th century provide today’s riders with an opportunity for generations of people to gather, celebrate, and ride horseback. Join LSU Professor Jeremiah Ariaz as he shares stories of these clubs and the photographs reflecting Creole culture and the celebratory spirit of the trail rides. Lunchtime Lagniappe is an ongoing series of brown bag talks that start at noon and last approximately thirty minutes plus a Q&A. Attendees are welcome to come and go as their lunch hour permits. This event is free and open to the public. Note that this talk is being hosted on a Tuesday to accommodate the speaker’s schedule. Free. louisianastatemuseum.org.
