Make It: Take It Cloth Doll Workshop
West Baton Rouge Museum 845 North Jefferson Avenue, Port Allen, Louisiana 70767
Artist Barbara W. Franklin's dolls are meant to reflect the true, remarkable diversity of the world around her, with cloth skins colored black, brown, beige, tan, unbleached, and white muslin. As a young child, seeing a beautifully crafted black cloth doll in a store front window in the French Quarter touched her, and she's been making her own ever since.
Join Franklin at the West Baton Rouge Museum for a special workshop on crafting colorful craft dolls, fostering the celebration of multiculturalism in the youngest generation. For children ages 6–12. All supplies provided. 2 pm–4 pm. Free. westbatonrougemuseum.com.
