The Marjorie Morrison Sculpture Biennial honors Marjorie Morrison, wife of former U.S. Senator Jim Morrison and longtime advocate of the arts in Louisiana. Morrison was a key player among the original members of the Hammond Regional Arts Center and helped get the organization off the ground thirty years ago. This fifth installation of the Marjorie Morrison Sculpture Biennial is curated by Southeastern Professor of Sculpture Jeff Mickey, and includes artwork by Dale Newkirk, Steven Schepker, Cristina Molina, Gary Keown, and Pat Macaluso, among many others. The exhibition will open with a reception at the arts centera 70's-themed reception January 12 from 5 pm-8 pm; fling on a shag wig and come enjoy some of Marjorie's favorite recipes, including her signature cocktail, the Magnolia Blossom. hammondarts.org.
