The New Orleans African American Museum presents The Katrina List: An Untold Story of Hurricane Katrina, highlighting the work of R. Omar Casimire. After the levees broke during the hurricane, Casimire stayed in New Orleans to rescue survivors and document the names, faces, and stories absent in official accounts. His archive of over 10,000 people stranded and abandoned was was intended to form the basis of a lawsuit, but now has become a living memorial. The exhibition, which features testimonies, photographs, and artifacts, is presented by NOAAM and The Katrina National Memorial Foundation. noaam.org.
