Oktoberfest New Orleans

Deutsches Haus 1700 Moss Street, New Orleans, Louisiana
October means a lot to Southerners. Football, the relief of cooler temperatures, and four weekends of Oktoberfest are enough to keep everyone smiling and happy—even the gaggle of dachshunds nipping at your heels. Take the dachshunds out to Deutsches Haus this month for the annual taste of the motherland that is Oktoberfest. There will be German food, German beer, Oompah Music, a dancing chicken (?!); and all tiny, sausage-shaped dogs are welcome to join a dachshund race. Test your Masskrugstemmen skills in a beer stein-holding contest held every day of the festival, or show off your lederhosen dancing to the music of the old country. 4 pm–11 pm Fridays; 1 pm–11 pm Saturdays. $8 admission; children 12 and younger free. Proof of vaccination or a negative PCR COVID-19 test taken within seventy-two hours will be required for all individuals twelve years of age and older. oktoberfestnola.com for detailed schedules.
