One Book One Community Movie Day

If you're not taking part in the East Baton Rouge Parish Libraries' "One Book One Community" read of Mark Twain's Life on the Misssisippi yet, you'll be happy to know there's a movie to get you up to speed (well, sort of). In the outdoor plaza, the Main Library will screen Hal Holbrook: Mark Twain Tonight!, the 1954 one-man play devised by Hal Holbrook, in which the actor blends comedy and drama to depict Mark Twain as he recites selections from several of Twain's writings. We have a feeling you'll be even more motivated to read the actual Twain text by the end of the film. If only there were a library nearby ... 7 pm. Free. ebrpl.com.
