Noted software art pioneer (and Louisiana native) John F. Simon, Jr., explores his creative process in Paths and Loops: Automatic Drawings by John F. Simon, Jr., a new exhibition at the Hilliard University Art Museum. Each day, in a meditative practice, Simon draws a picture. Images that recur in his daily drawings are later subject to more elaborate works by Simon, such as software, sculptural paintings created with CNC routers, and any other materials that appeal to him. Over time, the artist has realized that a work is perhaps never complete but awaiting further enrichment. hilliardmuseum.org.
