RAP Unzel
to
Southern Rep Theatre 2541 Bayou Road, New Orleans, Louisiana 70119
The hair's still big in this one, but Jeremy Rashad Brown's interpretation of the classic fairy tale includes no damsels in distress. No, RAP Unzel tells the story of Reginald "Rap," a young man whose personality is as big as his hair, which seriously concerns his mother. Through hip-hop, music, and dance, Rap learns lessons of identity, empowerment, and awareness as he pursues his dreams of musical stardom. See it at Southern Repertory Theater's Sanctuary Stage, as performed by the Radical Buffoons to open their third season. Saturdays and Sundays December 14–29 (3:30 pm, December 14; 1:30 pm December 21 & 28; 11:30 am Sundays); 1:30 pm Friday December 27. $20; $10 for children. radicalbuffoons.com.
