If your appetite for attention-grabbing gasbags hasn't been satisfied by some member of congress or other, head up to Shreveport to enjoy the Red River Balloon Rally and U.S. National Hot Air Balloon Championship. The nation's best hot air balloon pilots will be seen around Shreveport/Bossier City all week as they work to complete challenges in the national championship. In addition, there's a public festival offering music, activities, food, tethered balloon rides, and more! Kids especially love the special shape balloons (Yoda and Darth Vader will be floating to a galaxy far, far away) and the balloon glow night show, not to mention the kite flying and skydiving demonstrations.
