"Robert Gordy: Outside the Mainstream"
to
New Orleans Museum of Art 1 Collins C. Diboll Circle, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124
NOMA presents an exhibition by Louisiana native Robert Gordy (1933–86), an artist who preferred to work "outside the mainstream" and known nationally for his mastery of space, line, and color. After graduating from LSU with his MFA in the 1950s, Gordy lived internationally before settling in New Orleans in 1964. His works were exhibited at galleries in New York, Chicago, and New Orleans. The exhibition draws from NOMA's permanent collection, the archive of the Robert Gordy estate, and loans from private collections. noma.org.
