Robert Grayson in Concert
First United Methodist 930 North Boulevard, Baton Rouge, Louisiana 70802
Renowned organist, tenor, pianist, and LSU music professor Robert Grayson will perform a concert on the beautiful-sounding new organ at the First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge. The explosive evening of music will include Grayson's free-form piano composition inspired by Verdi's Rigoletto, variations on the Agincourt Hymn, and some of the most beloved and dramatic works written for the organ by masters such as Bach, Widor, and Boellmann. Known for his resonant tenor voice, Grayson will also sing. The organ has played a substantial role in Grayson's life, both musically and personally—he was introduced to his now-wife in 1967 by his organ professor, and the pair celebrated fifty years of marriage this summer. 3 pm at the First United Methodist Church.
