New Orleans Museum of Art 1 Collins C. Diboll Circle, New Orleans, Louisiana 70124
One of the New Orleans Museum of Art's most enthusiastic donors and trustees, Dr. H. Russell Albright (1934–2017) accumulated a remarkable collection of valuable artworks throughout his lifetime. His collection included important examples of African art, decorative arts, and modern art, but more than anything else—of photography. From important early twentieth-century photographs to contemporary works, Dr. Albright's collection included prints by photographers including Brassai and Doris Ulmann, Cindy Sherman, Lorna Simpson, adn Yasamusa Morimura. His gift of four hundred works to NOMA now forms the core of the museum's modern and contemporary photograph collection, of which a selection is now exhibited in the first-floor Great Hall and second-floor A. Charlotte Mann and Joshua Mann Pailet Gallery. noma.org.
