Semaine Française d’Arnaudville (Arnaudville’s French Week), a five-day symposium at NUNU Arts & Culture Collective that brings together scholars, artists, scientists, cultural citizens, organizations, and policy makers to discuss ideas of creative placemaking. “Creative placemaking” refers to the idea of using the arts and culture of an area as economic drivers, thereby strengthening a location’s unique identity. This comes easily to culturally rich and culturally self-conscious Louisiana. Summit days begin with a light breakfast, networking, presentations, and projects completed and underway. A lunch break is followed by round-table discussions, during which presenters are available for the exchange of ideas. There is a $10 per-day fee. Stick around for nightly festivities within each presenting community, culminating with Festival International de Louisiane in Lafayette. semaine-francaise-arnaudville.org.
