September 10: Ferris Bueller's Day Off: The ultimate "playing hooky" flick. Need we say more? Bueller? Bueller?
Manship Virtual Cinema, streaming until September 15: Out Stealing Horses: A man living in self-imposed isolation meets his new neighbor, and realizes they share a connection from many years ago.
September 17: Pretty in Pink: Somewhat of a social outcast at her high school, Andie (played by Mollie Ringwald, of course) works at a record store in Chicago and discovers dating a rich and popular boy is not as fun as it initially seems.
Manship Virtual Cinema, streaming until September 17: The August Virgin: Eva is unhappy with her life, and desires to spend the summer in Spain (when most other locals leave) to discover herself.
Manship Virtual Cinema, streaming until September 17: Jazz on a Hot Summer's Day: Filmed at the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival and beautifully restored in 4k, the film features intimate performances by musical legends including Louis Armstrong, Thelonious Monk, Gerry Mulligan, Anita O'Day, Chuck Berry, Dinah Washington, and closes with a beautiful rendition or The Lord's Prayer by Mahalia Jackson.
September 24: Sixteen Candles: Another Brat Pack classic featuring Mollie Ringwald, this flick tells the story of angsty Samantha having her sweet sixteen overshadowed by her older sister's wedding, and her boy problems surrounding the occasion.
