Spotlight on Francis Pavy

Lafayette artist Francis X. Pavy has worked in painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass making, neon, live drawing and music; he also designed the 1997, 2007, and 2017 Jazz Fest posters. Lake Arthur Lotus is a psychedelic swampscape Pavy improvised over a period in 2014, intended to address the complex situation of Louisiana's coastal wetlands. The resulting painting can be seen in this exhibition, along with some of the blocks used to produce the collage. hilliardmuseum.org
