Hilltop Symposium: Designing with Nature

The Friends of Hilltop Arboretum's annual symposium, held at the East Baton Rouge Parish Main Library Goodwood, is all about native plants, and the ways that ecological restoration and traditional garden design can intersect. This year's theme is titled Designing with Nature: Functional, Sacred, and Sustainable Landscapes." The event's keynote speaker is Jessi Bloom, a best-selling author, award-winning ecological landscape designer, ISA Certified Arborist, and founder of N.W. Bloom Ecological Services. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore a self-guided Sanctuary Garden Showcase with local experts and vendors, themed areas, and tips for how to apply permaculture and sanctuary-inspired concepts at home. 9 am—1 pm. $85 for non-members; $75 for members; $45 for students. lsu.edu/hilltop.
