"The Buccaneer" Screening

On the occasion of the film’s 60th anniversary, The Historic New Orleans Collection will present a screening of the New Orleans-set film The Buccaneer (1958), starring Yul Brynner and Charlton Heston. Directed by Anthony Quinn, The Buccaneer follows the swashbuckling privateer Jean Laffite as he helps Andrew Jackson win the Battle of New Orleans. Partially set and filmed at Shadows-on-the-Teche plantation in New Iberia and around New Orleans, the movie premiered here.
