You know them by sight ... and surely by sound. The LSU Marching Band has kept the tempo for first downs, half times, and touchdowns alike for decades now. Author Faye Phillips, former dean of Libraries at LSU, will lead a talk on Tiger Band traditions at the Main Library today, from military inspiration to the band's recent induction into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame, drawing from her new book The Golden Band from Tigerland: A History of LSU's Marching Band. 7 pm. ebrpl.com.
