The House of Blue Leaves
to
Cité des Arts 109 Vine Street, Lafayette, Louisiana 70501
In John Guare's farcical, though heartwarming, comedy, The House of Blue Leaves, we meet a zookeeper named Artie, who would really prefer to be something much grander. Artie has a few gigs at piano bars in Queens, he has a wife named Bananas and a mistress named Bunny. His son harbors a desire to blow up the Pope in Yankee Stadium, and has the homemade bomb to do it. And then his old school chum Billy comes to town, holding the keys to Artie's rise to the top. Described as an "Enchantingly zany and original farce" by the New York Times, producer Lauren Reilly Eliot and director Gina Baronne's rendition at Cité des Arts is sure to charm Acadiana residents.
