The Louisiana Art & Science Museum's summer exhibition, Threads of Evolution: Engineering a Community That Sparkles, follows the journey of Jaime Glas Odom, who began her career as a petroleum engineer before diving into the fashion world to create flame-resistant workwear for women. Today known as the "Queen of Sparkles," her sequined, maximalist designs are sold in more than 1,500 boutiques across the country. An opening reception will be held July 24 from 6 pm–8 pm. $20 for non-members; $10 for members. lasm.org.
