In Tangipahoa parish, home-town hospitality is as natural as the landscape itself. At inns and B&Bs across the parish, visitors are welcomed with open arms, and amenities that make each establishment feel like home. Surrounded by scenic countryside, and with on-site hosts and concierge services standing by, your celebration doubles as a vacation for everyone involved.
Tranquil Escapes
At Bienvenue Mon Ami Bed and Breakfast in Amite, owners Jeff and Laura Atkinson offer the splendor of solitude at their recently constructed estate. Located in the Tangipahoa heartland in Amite City, the recently constructed antebellum-style bed and breakfast cossets guests with modern amenities. “We want guests to feel refreshed and pampered,” said Laura Atkinson. There’s an on-site art gallery and outdoor sculpture garden, and the Atkinsons can arrange travel to and from wedding and event venues parish-wide upon request.

Historic Estates
For three generations, Historic Michabelle Inn has welcomed the world to Hammond. Current owners Sandra Marcais Bradley and David Bradley have continued the life’s work of “Chef Michel” and “Miss Isabel” Marcais, who opened the property as a bed and breakfast in 1998. Michel and Isabel poured their hearts into the renovation and expansion of the mansion, which was completed in 1907, and its surrounding gardens. An architectural landmark built in a blend of Greek Revival and Queen Anne styles, Michabelle Inn welcomes returning guests with elegant suites and exceptional event service in the historic house.
Named after the light color of the Mississippi Heart Pine used to construct the interior of the estate, Amite’s Blythewood Event Center - Bed & Breakfast harks back to Tangipahoa Parish’s earliest days. Built in 1885, the estate is owned today by the Kennedy family, direct descendants of the original recipient of the Spanish Grant Land upon which the property was built. Blythewood is an ideal option for guests looking for a historic venue with the amenities required to host a shower or wedding event, with full bed and breakfast service to boot.
With secluded, well-appointed properties situated throughout Tangi’s pretty, rural landscapes, booking accommodation at a local bed and breakfast just might be the strawberry on top of a perfect wedding weekend. As Laura Atkinson of Bienvenue Mon Ami is fond of saying, “Tangipahoa parish is truly the Poconos of the Southeast.”
